Emergency Vehicle Safety Initiative Report Now Available

The report addresses ways to enhance emergency vehicle operations safety, as well as the roadway safety operations of firefighters and other emergency responders.
Michael D. Brown, Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response, announced today the release of the recently completed Fire Service Emergency Vehicle Safety Initiative report.

This initiative, which was jointly sponsored by the United States Fire Administration (USFA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration, will enhance the safety of firefighters while responding and returning from emergencies and while operating on the roadway.
