DELISLE - Sheriff's deputies have arrested a DeLisle man who officials said used a shotgun to prevent firefighters from saving his home on Elm Road.

Officers arrested Lorenz C. Stiles, 54, on charges of arson and two counts of attempted aggravated assault early today. Authorities said he surrendered after the home burned down to its concrete slab.

Stiles' estranged wife called the Harrison County Sheriff's Department around 6:20 a.m., saying she was staying with relatives and had received a phone call saying her home was on fire, according to investigators.
