Community Honors Life Of Former Beloved Fire Chief and EMS Pioneer

James O. Page, 68, of Carlsbad passed away on Saturday leaving a legacy of his life's work throughout the world.
On September 16th, the Carlsbad Fire Department, along with hundreds of Fire Fighters from across the country, will be participating in a memorial service to be held in Carlsbad. This will include a procession of fire apparatus and a Celebration of Jim's life at Tom Giblin's Irish Pub and Restaurant. Located at the corner of Roosevelt & Grand Avenue.

James O. Page, 68, of Carlsbad passed away on Saturday leaving a legacy of his life's work throughout the world. Page is best remembered for his lifelong work in championing the development of improved emergency medical and fire services throughout North America. Over the years, he has been a member of the City of Monterey Park (Calif.) Fire Department, Battalion Chief for the Los Angeles County and Carlsbad Fire Departments, Chief of EMS for the State of North Carolina, Executive Director of the non-profit Advanced Coronary Treatment Foundation, and in 1996 he established and funded an EMS educational foundation at Palomar College in San Marcos.
