SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Investigators said Monday an electrical problem may have sparked a fire that killed four people, including two children.

The victims of the early Sunday fire included a woman whose age was not available, her 5- and 9-year-old daughters, and a 30-year-old man. The woman's 55-year-old mother remained hospitalized.

''We're looking at every possibility, the habits of the people, the conditions of the home, the appliances, every possible thing,'' Fire Department spokesman Randy Jenkins said.

Neighbors reported hearing screams from the house at the time of the fire. Burglar bars were on a portion of the back of the house, but there was no initial indication they blocked an escape attempt, Jenkins said.

The 55-year-old woman was found in a hallway and may have been trying to find her way out. Jenkins said he did not know where the other victims were found, and had no information on whether the home had smoke detectors.
