CANTERBURY, N.H. (AP) -- Firefighters from many communities were battling a four-alarm fire in a building at a sod farm Saturday.

The fire broke out a little after 2 p.m. at the Gold Star Farm, and the fourth alarm, for additional pumpers, went out around 2:30. Firefighters were responding from as far away as Northwood.

The Gold Star Farm is near the Merrimack River, not far from Interstate 93.

There was no word on possible injuries.

The sod farm is part of a project Canterbury, Concord, the state and federal government and conservation groups have been working on. Just Friday, the government announced it was granting the project $500,000 to help buy and preserve the land.
