EL MONTE, Calif. (AP) -- A three-alarm fire destroyed a textile factory early Monday morning, causing more than $3 million damage, officials said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire broke out around midnight and gutted a one-story pillow manufacturing building in El Monte, about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, said county fire Capt. Mark Savage.

Seventy-five firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly before 2 a.m., he said.

The building was valued at about $2 million and its contents at $1 million. The fire also caused nearly $30,000 damage to two neighboring buildings, Savage said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
