Blaze at Cape Cod, Massachusetts Restaurant Ruled Arson

BOURNE, Mass. (AP) -- An arsonist lit the fire that destroyed a landmark Cape Cod restaurant last month, state Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said.

The fire that ripped through The Bridge restaurant near the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne was found to have started in the cellar below the bar, Coan said in a statement Tuesday.

All possible accidental causes have been eliminated.

The restaurant was in the process of changing ownership when the blaze broke out early on the morning of Jan. 4. The restaurant was closed at the time and no one was injured.
