Investigators are working today to determine what caused a fire that forced people to evacuate an Overland Park house Wednesday.
A resident reported the fire about 8:20 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was pouring from every opening of the house in the 8700 block of West 97th Street, and the residents were outside. Firefighters made their way with a hose to the basement, where the fire had started, and brought the blaze under control within 15 minutes.
No one was hurt.
