Man Trapped After Ditch Collapses; N.Y. State Firefighters Perform Intense Four-Hour Rescue
A Monticello church volunteer, trapped waist-high in mud when the drainage ditch he was working in collapsed, was pulled from the earth after a four-hour rescue effort.
Rescue workers carry Carl Williams, 20, of Monticello, to an ambulance after extracting him from a ditch where he had been trapped for nearly four hours. Williams was working in the drainage ditch for a renovation project at Bethlehem Temple Church on Fairgrounds Road.
