One Dead, Two Hurt in Washington, D.C. Fire

One man was found dead after fire swept though a Northwest home early Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- One man was found dead after fire swept though a Northwest home early Tuesday.

It happened around 9 a.m. in the 900 block of T Street. The victim was located on the second floor of the two-story row house once the fire was put down, according to a District of Columbia Fire and Rescue Department spokesman.

An elderly woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and burns. Another woman was also hurt. The severity of her injuries were not known.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
