Thursday morning, a motorcycle shop and several other stores burned up in a blaze on a Bellmore, Long Island business strip.
Heavy flames consumed Custom Cycle on New Bridge Road just after 5 a.m. It happened at the intersection of New Bridge Road and Camp Avenue in Bellmore, Nassau County. The fire spread to several other stores on the block.
After two and a half hours, the fire department finally began to bring this fire under control. Firefighters battled flames coming out of the roof and the fire then spread to a jewelry store next door to the motorcycle shop.
Many motorcycles were damaged inside of this shop. One firefighter was injured battling the blaze and the extent of his injuries are unknown.
