Infant Dies In Iowa Mobile Home Fire
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- A baby died in a mobile home fire in rural Dubuque on Monday, the Dubuque County sheriff's department reported.
Capt. Gregory P. Egan said Sherrill and Asbury fire departments were called to the scene where they found the home to be fully in flames. He said an adult female and two young boys escaped, but the baby remained in the home.
The infant was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital where the adult was taken for smoke inhalation.
The Iowa State Fire Marshal's office was helping Dubuque sheriff's officers in determining the cause of the fire. The infant was taken to Des Moines for an autopsy.
