The association gave probationary firefighter Chris Campbell the Rookie of the Year, according to a news release. Campbell joined the Bradenton Fire Department in June 2004.
Battalion Chief Daniel Harris was presented with the Fire Officer of the Year, according to the release. He joined the fire department in 1985, and worked his way to become a battalion chief in September 2004.
Firefighters Tim Geer and Rommel Arostegui were awarded Fire Fighter of the Year, the release stated. Geer has been in the department for eight years, and Arostegui for nine. In January 2004, both rescued an unconscious individual from a fire.
Fire Inspector Richard Finlay was given the Above and Beyond award, according to the release. Finlay has been the secretary for the association for the past three years, and was one of its past presidents. He has been in the department for 14 years.
The awards were presented at a ceremony held in February.
