TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A fire broke out on the set of a television movie being filmed at the Tuscon Convention Center, injuring five people and forcing the evacuation of thousands arriving for a concert in another part of the building.

The fire started about 7:30 p.m. Friday on the set of ABC's "Desperation,'' written by horror writer Stephen King. It damaged the set, made to look like a mine shaft, but not the convention center.

"It looks like the fire started inside the mine shaft then it spread pretty quickly through the tunnel itself,'' said Deputy Chief Randy Ogden of the Tucson Fire Department. "Most of the damage is to just the movie stuff _ the tunnel itself, film, movie equipment _ that kind of stuff.''

Three people were injured by falling debris and received first-and second-degree burns on their faces and hands. They were taken to hospitals. Two others were treated for smoke inhalation, according to fire officials.

Doors to a concert by country music singer Keith Urban had just opened when the fire started. The concert was canceled.

Cause of the fire was under investigation.
