ROCKERVILLE, S.D. (AP) -- Recent snow helped keep flames from a weekend fire from spreading into the Black Hills forest, the Rockerville fire chief said.

The Saturday morning blaze destroyed a 3,200-square-foot lodge and a garage at Hillside Country Cottages, a business that rents out cabins south of Rapid City, said Chief Paul Smith.

Besides the buildings, the fire destroyed supplies for the upcoming tourism season.

The owners said they'll try to keep the business open while they rebuild the lodge.

Investigators are still looking for a cause.
