Second Child Dies from December Iowa Fire

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -- A second child has died as the result of a house fire in Davenport last month.

Daniel Lee Stewart, 4, died Monday night at University Hospitals in Iowa City shortly after being taken off life support. Daniel and his sister, Amber Lynn, 6, died from injuries suffered in a Dec. 21 duplex fire on Davenport's west side. Amber died Dec. 23.

Their father, Michael Stewart, is recovering from injuries and could be released from the hospital in time to attend his son's funeral on Friday, said Michael's stepmother, Sharon Stewart of Clarence.
