Suspicious Fire Hits Washington Lumber Yard

A fire of suspicious origin destroyed a trailer and equipment, causing an estimated $500,000 in damage at a log yard in north Everett early Tuesday.

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) -- A fire of suspicious origin destroyed a trailer and equipment, causing an estimated $500,000 in damage at a log yard in north Everett early Tuesday.

Fire Marshal Warren Burns said the fire was suspicious because of the time and location.

A passer-by reported the blaze about 1:30 a.m.

Fire destroyed a wood chipper, log loader and earth mover as well as the trailer.
