BRIDGETON -- A two-alarm blaze at 57 Cedar Street early Monday evening destroyed the duplex-style home, leaving a family uninjured, but homeless.

The fire also highlighted the fire department's need for more manpower, one department official said as volunteer and career firefighters returned to the Orange Street firehouse around 8 p.m.

An unidentified firefighter was treated at South Jersey Healthcare-Bridgeton Hospital for unspecified injuries sustained while battling the blaze, Lt. Mike Weist said.
