VERDEN, Okla. (AP) -- A fire destroyed the building that once housed the Verden News.

Nobody was injured in the Tuesday afternoon fire, the cause was under investigation, and a damage figure was being determined, officials said.

``My father printed the paper for both Cement and here, going back to the 1920s,'' said owner Oral Jack Jackson. ``I remember playing in the back. I would find pieces of coal and pretend they were cars.''

Numerous antiques were stored in the building. Among them were a printing press, cut slots, type cases, old newspapers, and furniture.
