NESCOPECK, Pa. (AP) -- A Luzerne County man was arrested and charged with setting fire to his home while his wife and brother-in-law were inside.
John F. Fearon, 38, is charged with arson, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and related counts. Police said he got into an argument Sunday with his wife, Beverly Fearon, then left the house and made threatening phone calls to his wife and stepson, Wayne Headley, saying he was returning to burn down the house.
Police said he did return several hours later and entered the house with a gasoline can, which he poured on the couch and set it ablaze. Inside the home were Beverly Fearon and her brother-in-law, Joseph Webb III, police said.
The house was gutted, said township Fire Chief Don Hess.
