DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- About 20 hogs got loose after the semitrailer they were being hauled in crashed on an interstate ramp north of the city.

The driver of the semi, Jimmy Gaudreau, of Quebec, wasn't hurt. None of the hogs were injured.

About 80 hogs remained on the truck as firefighters and state troopers worked for four hours to round up the hogs. None of the hogs got into traffic.

``Our first concern was that the driver wasn't injured and that there was no danger to the motoring public,'' said state Trooper Todd Aarhus. ``The hogs were pretty calm, actually.''

A group of firefighters helped round up the hogs.

``This isn't covered in the firefighter books,'' said Capt. Travis Parson, of the Delaware Township Fire Department.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
