CLACKAMAS, Ore. (AP) -- Two people confined to wheelchairs narrowly escaped a Clackamas house fire after neighbors rescued them.
Rita Hale, 55, and Douglas Phillips, 76 _ were rescued by neighbors after the blaze broke out late Thursday night.
Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, officials said.
Fire investigators said they believe the fire started in the back yard, although the immediate cause is still unknown. Officials estimate that the damage is well over $100,000.
