Jim Rosenblum's NASCAR "FDNY Racing Team" is revving up for Daytona, where it will run to honor the memory of three fallen firefighters.
When the team's race truck competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 18, its hood will sport a decal with the words "Always remember . . . never forget," and the names of the three firefighters who died in two separate blazes on Jan. 23.
"We're running to honor them for their ultimate sacrifice in protecting us," said team owner Rosenblum.
The three firefighters who died were Lt. Curtis Meyran, 46, of Battalion 26; John Bellew, 37, of Ladder Co. 27; and Richard Sclafani, 37, of Ladder Co. 103.
Four firefighters were also injured that day: Jeffrey Cool, 37, and Joseph DiBernardo, 34, of Rescue Co. 3; and Eugene Stolowski, 33, and Brendan Cawley, 31, of Ladder 27.
Rosenblum urged people to contribute to the special Uniformed Firefighters Association fund launched by The Post to help the families of the seven firefighters.
"It's a way to demonstrate that the general public appreciates their dedication and ultimate sacrifice," he said.
He said that anyone donating $1,000 to the Heroes Fund will get a signed 1/24 die-cast replica of the FDNY race truck, and the first two people who contribute $25,000 will be honorary members of the team's pit crew at Daytona.
Rosenblum won The Post's 2004 Liberty "Ambassador" Medal for creating the FDNY Racing Team after 9/11 as a fund-raising tool to benefit families of city firefighters.
The team, which includes active and former FDNY members, races nationwide
