Muir Cove, MI -- A Farmington Hills firefighter was injured Tuesday battling a blaze at a house. The firefighter, whose name is not being released, sustained minor burns and was treated and released from the hospital, said Chief Richard Marinucci.

"He's going to be OK," Marinucci said.

The fire started at the home on the 35000 block of Muir Cove at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one - except the firefighter - was injured. Neighbors reported the fire and firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the home when they arrived.

Damages were estimated at about $200,000, with smoke, water and flames to blame.

Firefighters were at the scene of the fire until early afternoon on Tuesday. About half of the home was damaged in the fire.

"It'll be a pretty big loss," he said.

Farmington Hills fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze, but Marinucci said it did not appear suspicious in the early stages of the investigation.

"There is no reason to believe it is (suspicious) just yet," he said.
