BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) -- A Bullhead City firefighter jumped for his life today after a runaway 18-wheeler hauling steel came barreling down Arizona 68.

Bullhead City Fire Department spokesman Larry Tunforss says around 6:30 this morning, fire crews were on Highway 68 east of Bullhead City dealing with a truck fire.

A D-P-S officer on the scene could see the runaway truck coming down the mountain at 90 miles-an-hour.

Tunforss says the D-P-S officer yelled at fire crews to get off the highway.

The runway truck came within inches of hitting a fire fighter.

The truck ran through two signals in Bullhead City before finally coming to rest at a parking lot.

The driver and the firefighters are said to be O-K.
