WASHINGTON (AP) -- A candle on a Christmas wreath touched off a small fire at a Silver Spring nursing home Sunday.
The flames were quickly extinguished by the building's sprinkler system, Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer said.
The fire at the Springvale Terrace Nursing Home started around 7 p.m. in a party room.
No one was injured in the fire, Piringer said. The building was briefly evacuated during the fire's cleanup.
