After weeks of dogging Mayor Michael Bloomberg for a new contract at city events, the police and firefighters unions are trying him at home.

At about 1 a.m. Wednesday, hundreds of police and firefighters staged a rally and candlelight vigil outside Bloomberg's townhouse on the Upper East Side.

The police union says it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. With the mayor leaving for Greece Wednesday, a spokesperson said, they wanted to wish him a bon voyage.
