HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A MAX train in Hillsboro was back to normal for Monday's commute after it collided with a fire truck on Sunday. Service to the last three MAX stations was disrupted for nearly 12 hours by the accident.

The MAX was taking passengers from downtown Hillsboro to Portland yesterday afternoon when it collided with a fire truck. The accident sent several people to the hospital.

It happened at the intersection of Fifth and Washington Streets in downtown Hillsboro. Both the MAX and the fire truck were significantly damaged.

The rail operator, the driver of the fire truck and a passenger in the fire truck were all taken to hospitals.

During the service disruption, buses shuttled riders until the end of service last night.
