An 800-acre wildfire burned out of control in Riverside County on Monday, but didn't threaten any homes, authorities said.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) -- An 800-acre wildfire burned out of control in Riverside County on Monday, but didn't threaten any homes, authorities said.

The blaze in the Snow Creek area was moving south into hills and national forest land, said county fire department spokeswoman Becky Luther.

About 300 firefighters battled the flames overnight, she said.

The blaze began at about 3 p.m. Sunday in the Cabazon area. The cause is under investigation.

There were no reports of injuries.
