BUSH, La. (AP) -- Fire killed three of the five people in a house in this St. Tammany Parish commmunity.

They were described only as a 79-year-old great-grandmother, a 49-year-old man and a 52-year-old man.

Sean Loper, 15, said he woke about 11 p.m. Sunday because someone was shouting outside his room.

''I opened the door and smoke just smothered me,'' Loper told WWL-TV. ''So I slammed the door, and I'm looking for a window to crawl out of. And I got out of the window, ran up the street, and called 911.''

Fire was through the roof when the Bush Volunteer Fire Department arrived, Chief Randy Kimble said. Fire trucks from Bush, Abita Springs and St. Tammany parish had to make several trips to an area reservoir to refill their water tanks.

The state fire marshal's office was investigating the cause Monday.
