A two-alarm fire destroyed a West Nashville building Wednesday afternoon, sending smoke billowing and fire crews scrambling.

An abandoned warehouse on 27th and Delaware Avenues near Charlotte Pike caught fire around 1 pm Monday. Fire crews worked for about half an hour to contain the blaze, which didn't threatened any nearby buildings.

A nearby daycare center was temporarily evacuated, but no one was injured during the fire. Investigators are now searching for clues to the blaze's origin.
