ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) -- It took 75 years, but the Saint Cloud Fire Department has finally recognized its first firefighter ever killed in the line of duty.

Robert Peschl died after being severly injured while helping extinguish a warehouse fire in 1929.

The department honored his service with a mark on his grave to note he was a firefighter. They also gave his 82-year-old daughter a plaque commemorating his life and death.

The department will also place a plaque on the department wall, and at the National Fallen Firefighter's Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
