(Bellevue-AP) -- A firefighter from Bellevue has made the short list for the U.S. Olympic equestrian team.

Amy Tyron, a full-time firefighter with Eastside Fire and Rescue, competes in Eventing, which combines dressage on a flat course with show and cross-country jumping on a varied course.

U.S. Equestrian Team Captain Mark Phillips picked Tyron after months of grueling trials.

Now she's in Virginia, gearing up for another trial.

Final selections for the U.S. team will be made next Friday (July 16th.)
