Richmond firefighters believe two house fires last night may be the work of an arsonist. Both houses caught fire on East Blake Street within hours of each other.

The first one happened around 5:00pm in the 100 block of East Blake. They tell us that house was gutted.

Then shortly after 10:00pm, flames were shooting out of the second story of another house on the same street. It too had heavy damage.

Right now the exact cause of each fire is under investigation, but authorities are ruling them suspicious.
