DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A fire at a Chester County paper mill caused an estimated $1 million in damage.
The blaze at Sonoco Products Co. broke out around 1 p.m. Sunday in a room where paper pulp is dried, officials said. About a dozen people were working at the mill at the time, but no injuries were reported.
The fire was fed by dried paper ''dust'' that had gathered on top of beams during the drying process, said Mark Brunstetter, a spokesman for the Downingtown Fire Department. Firefighters got the blaze under control in about two hours.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday.
