New Jersey Firefighters Find Man's Charred Remains; Prompts Muder Investigation

Edison firefighters discovered the charred remains shortly after responding to a call of smoke in an overgrown area beyond a gravel parking lot.
He was stabbed and bludgeoned, and his naked body dumped in a hand-dug grave in an Edison marsh and set ablaze. Now police are trying to determine who he was.

Edison firefighters discovered the charred remains shortly after noon Saturday while responding to a call of smoke in an overgrown area beyond a gravel parking lot in the Raritan Center Industrial Park off Woodbridge Avenue.

Assistant Middlesex County Prosecutor Nicholas Sewitch described the man as light-skinned with black, short-cropped hair and in his late 20s or mid-30s. He was 5 feet 11 1/2 inches tall and weighed between 210 and 230 pounds.
