Nashville firefighters are credited with averting a possible disaster in Antioch Friday morning.

A fuel tanker truck caught fire at a gas station as the driver prepared to unload a full tank filled with 8,000 gallons of gas. Flames ignited in the cab of the truck. Firefighters used hoses to keep the fuel tank cool, while they put out the flames.

"Yyou could've had a big disaster...it's a good possibility, because it's right there in the middle of a gas station. Got all kind of gas pumps here. He's fixing to unload. If he'd been unloading, it could've been worse," said Nashville Fire Capt. Harry Byrd.

The driver of the tanker truck was not injured.
