BELCOURT, N.D. (AP) -- A house fire here has killed two children and seriously injured their mother, fire officials say.
The victims' names were not immediately released.
Firefighters said the blaze was reported about 7 a.m., Tuesday, at the Kent Housing Addition east of Belcourt.
The children's mother was flown to a Minneapolis-area hospital, Turtle Mountain Police Chief Rod Trottier said.
He praised the firefighters on the scene.
``These people went right into the flames, trying to get everyone out, and really need to be recognized as very brave heroes,'' Trottier said.
The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze, but no crime is suspected, Trottier said.
