Police and firefighters have confiscated thousands of dollars of illegal fireworks, including some from a Brooklyn daycare center, just days before July 4th.

Officers found 125 cases of fireworks Thursday in a Flatbush home known as the "Gems of Tomorrow Daycare" on East 46th Street.

Another 35 cases were found on Menahan Street in Bushwick.

The fireworks have a combined street value of about $18,000.

"Can you imagine if these fireworks that were placed in a daycare center where children were staying, if they got into the hands of these children and how many more injuries we'd have this year?" said Chief Fire Marshal Louis Garcia.

Police arrested Stacey Holmes, 41, in the Flatbush daycare bust. He is charged with child endangerment and unlawful dealing of fireworks.
