MCLEAN, Va. (AP) -- A rude awakening for three families Thursday as fire swept through one home and damaged two others.
It happened around 1:15 a.m. at 1643 La Salle Avenue in McLean, Va. The blaze destroyed the home it originated in and the flames were so hot it damaged the siding on the two houses around it, according to Fairfax County Fire officials.
No one was seriously hurt but a resident and a firefighter were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.
The cause remains under investigation but authorities said it doesn't appear to be suspicious. Damage to the home were the fire started is estimated at $800,000. The two other homes both have about $25,000 in damage each
