An accident at the Indianapolis Casting Corporation injured 3 people early this morning. Investigators say they are in serious condition at Wishard Hospital, but their injuries are not considered life threatening.
The plant is located in the 55-hundred block of Brookville road. Captain Gregg Harris of the Indianapolis Fire Department says the workers thought they were moving an empty container, but it had molten metal inside and it spilled out and splashed the workers.
Investigators say the temperature of the molten metal was between 1800 and 2,000 degrees. Crews at the scene of the spill put cooling gel on the victim's bodies.
