South Bend, IN -- A South Bend firefighter is facing a felony, forcing the Board of Public Safety to act.

Gale Evans was put on administrative leave without pay. He faces charges for fraudulently getting Vicodin at a local pharmacy.

The name used caught the attention of the pharmacy. It called the doctor and allegedly determined it was false.

Evans entered a preliminary not guilty plea and is due back in court on Thursday.
