SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A woman was found dead Thursday after her home was heavily damaged by fire.

Firefighters found Bonnie Woods, 51, on the floor of her bedroom, Assistant Fire Chief Bill Arington said. Woods lived alone.

Investigators believe the fire started in the adjoining living room. Flames were shooting through the roof, above the living room, when firefighters arrived about 5 a.m., Arington said.

Investigators had not determined what caused the fire. It was not considered suspicious.
