Despite a partial reprieve from bad weather on Tuesday, the effects of the three previous days of heavy thunderstorms continued to be felt as sodden ceilings collapsed in two Broward residences, temporarily displacing two families.
About 8:45 p.m., firefighters were called after ceilings buckled at a home in the 3500 block of Northwest Ninth Court in unincorporated Broward near Fort Lauderdale.
Minutes later, a similar incident was reported at a home in the 1600 block of Northwest 93rd Terrace in Coral Springs.
No injuries were reported.
And more rain may be on the way. The forecast calls for scattered showers today and Thursday, with a likelihood of more thunderstorms. The chance of rain is 80 percent today and will decrease toward the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
