TRENTON - On Monday, the city lost a young family to an early morning fire. Yesterday afternoon, the community came together as one extended family to mourn the tragic loss and celebrate civic unity in moving forward with life.
A memorial service and picnic, coordinated by community leaders, friends and neighbors, drew support for those grieving lost loved ones and homes after the early morning fire that destroyed houses from 29 to 37 Garfield Ave., killing Scharita Furcrohn, 21, and her two sons Cameron and Aquintus Isabell, ages 3 and 2 respectively. Furcrohn and her children had been staying at 33 Garfield Ave., the home of Ida Lee, her grandmother. Lee escaped the fire with her fiance John Childs and grandson Samuel Portis Jr.
