BRIDGETON TWP. -- An 18-foot boat motoring down on the Delaware River burst into flames and sank Saturday after an engine problem caused a booming explosion, according to witnesses and emergency officials.

Two men, a woman and a dog escaped the boat and were assisted to land on the Pennsylvania side of the river by a jet skier and a kayaker, witnesses said. The woman suffered burns and was the only person on the boat to go to a hospital for treatment, officials said.
