Clovis, New Mexico Hires New Fire Chief

Clovis will get a new fire chief Thursday with the promotion of Ray Westerman, who has been the community's assistant chief.

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) -- Clovis will get a new fire chief Thursday with the promotion of Ray Westerman, who has been the community's assistant chief.

Westerman has been with the Clovis Fire Department since January 1975 and assistant chief since April 2003.

Westerman succeeds Ron Edwards, who retired after 31 years with the department. Edwards had been chief in Clovis since March 2003.
