RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) -- Firefighters found two more bodies Monday in the debris of a building that collapsed last week, bringing the death toll to three.

The 12-story residential building collapsed Thursday in the coastal city of Recife 1,870 kilometers (1,160 miles) northeast of Rio de Janeiro.

Firefighters were looking for another body believed to be buried beneath the ruins, said Maj. Valdir de Oliveira of the fire department in Recife.

Residents had evacuated the building early Thursday after loud noises were heard and the building collapsed later that evening.

Four people were believed to have been in the building at the time including a doorman, a security guard and two workmen repairing the building's water supply.

On Friday, firefighters removed the body of a 38-year-old doorman.

Firefighters have not yet been able to remove or identify the bodies found Monday, Oliveira said.
