GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) -- A man tried on charges of arson and insurance fraud was found innocent by a jury.

Dirk Graves was charged after a fire destroyed his home Oct. 13, 2003.

He was cleared of second-degree arson and insurance fraud last week by a Mills County jury after a week-long trial.

After a fire started in the laundry room of the two-story home, Graves said he called 911 on his cell phone. The call was routed to the Cass County Emergency Communications Center in Plattsmouth, Neb., before being transferred to Mills County.

Graves has complained that response to the fire was slow.
