A fire in an elevator at a dormitory at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville resulted in a brief evacuation but no one was hurt.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- A fire in an elevator at a dormitory at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville resulted in a brief evacuation but no one was hurt.

Damage was minor, officials said.

The fire Wednesday at Humphreys Hall was reported at 2:14 p.m. The dorm was evacuated for about 40 minutes until smoke cleared. The blaze was quickly put out by dorm workers before firefighters arrived.

University police spokesman Lt. Gary Crain said both police and the Fayetteville Fire Department are investigating.
